This Summer, my parents moved from Chennai to Mumbai, and I felt that everything was new. This poem is about how I found friends and made my first day in school special. New beginnings can indeed turn into beautiful memories
From Chennai streets of calm and breeze,
To Mumbai’s roar with busy seas,
I packed my books, my toys, my dreams,
To chase new hopes in the city’s streams.
The plane had carried me far away,
To brighter lights and skies of grey.
I wondered softly, deep inside,
Would friends be near to stand beside?
The school looked tall, the gates so wide,
My heartbeat raced, with excitement to hide.
The teacher smiled, “Come take your seat,”
Her welcome words felt warm and sweet.
At lunch, I sat with idlis to eat,
Wondering if anyone would greet.
With so many new friends to meet,
These moments made my day complete.
A boy named Aayansh stopped to say,
“Will you please join our game today?”
He shared his vada pav, I shared my snack,
And laughter brought my courage back.
Soon I was running, bag in hand,
Cheerful, joyful, on the playground’s sand.
When I caught the bus, they greeted loud,
Welcome to BSS, I felt very proud.
That evening home, my smile was bright,
Mumbai no longer felt so fright.
A brand-new start had come my way,
And turned into a golden day.
For every change, though fears may stay,
New beginnings light the way.
A little kindness, a friendly cheer
Can make the day memorable and dear!
New Beginnings can feel tough each day, but friendship and smiles light the way!
