Water - Our Lifeline

When our Earth was formed five billion years ago,

As a sign of life, water began to show.

Split into different water bodies that we know today-

Humans have used in almost every day.

Precious, precious, water we know!

Water it is what we now use,

To drink, clean, cook our food.

But it’s getting murkier day by day-

All thanks to the pollution that reaches its way.

Turning water quality bad from what was once good!

We neglect our oceans when we turn to towards greed,

Now we have only “wants”, after fulfilling our every need.

Factories spout out their wastes into water-

Plastics and chemicals needlessly become a bother.

All indicating that we have planted an eventual disastrous seed!

The oceans are a place which we will continue to rely,

We need a motto that will resound clearly now.

Beach cleanups, regulations, policies for everyone involved-

Will go a long way to keep our waters safe and sound.

This for our dearest water, we must do with a heart full of love!
