Must - Try Drinks



ICED SPARKLING HONEY LIME WHITE TEA

Makes: 4 servings

Prep Time: 10 minutes

Ingredients:

4 White tea bags

2 teaspoons of honey (according to preference)

Juice of quarter of a lime or lemon

1 cup club soda

Lime or lemon slices for garnish

Directions:

Brew the tea according to the instructions, ideally for 2-4 minuets. Brew for longer if you want a stronger tea. Once the tea is ready add 2 teaspoons of honey and let it cool in a jug add the honey and tea mixture with the lime juice and club soda. Stir well and pour into glasses. Garnish with lime or lemon slices.


VIRGIN MOJITO

Makes: 2 servings

Prep time: 15-20 minutes

Ingredients:

1 sprig fresh mint leaves

1 table spoon simple syrup ( 1 cup water and 1 cup sugar boiled and reduced together)

Half a sliced lime

Ice (according to preference)

Sparkling water or soda or sprite

Mint leaves as garnish

Directions:

Muddle mint and lime together. To the mint and lime add the simple syrup. To this mixture add the water, soda or sprite and stir well. Add ice cubes to glass and top the drinks with mint leaves.


WATERMELON COOLER

Makes: 2 servings (small)

Prep time: 20 minutes

Ingredients:

4-5 cups of seedless watermelon chunks

1/2 peeled cucumber cut into chunks

5-10 mint leaves

3 tablespoons of sugar

1 tablespoon fresh lime juice

Salt to taste

Directions:

Add the cut pieces of watermelon and cucumber to the blender or juicer. If you are younger please ask an adult to help. Also add the mint leaves; roughly chopped. Strain the mixture to remove all liquid Put the mixture back in the blender and add ice cubes and the salt , lime juice. Blitz the mixture according to how slushy you want the cooler to be. Pour the mixture into glasses and top with mint.


MANGO CITRUS COCKTAIL

Makes: 4 servings

Prep time: 5 minutes

Ingredients:

2 mangoes peeled and sliced

1 1/2 tablespoons of granulated sugar

2 cups fresh orange juice

Juice of 2 limes

8 ice cubes

2 cups sparkling water or soda

Directions:

Add the mangoes, orange juice, lime juice, sugar,ice cubes to the blender and blitz for about 1-2 minuetsPour mixture into a jug and refrigerate till serving timeTake out the mixture and add the water or soda to diluteStir well and pour the cocktail into glasses and add ice.


GREEN TEA MOCKITO

Makes: 4-5 servings

Prep time: 10-15 minutes

Ingredients:

1 litre sparkling water or soda

50 ml brewed and chilled green tea

1 tablespoon lime juice

5 large mint leaves

2 tablespoons sugar

Ice cubes (according to preference)

Directions:

Muddle mint leaves, lime juice and sugar together till the flavours release. Add the sparkling water or soda to this mixture. Add ice cubes to the glass three fourths of the way and then add the green tea. Stir well and top  with some more water or soda and add mint leaves.
